Promoting Blue Careers and Mentoring, Romania, September 2022

On the 30th of September, TEAM4Excellence promoted the results of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership: Career Guidance in Blue Economy at the European Researchers’ Night event held at the Maritime University of Constanta. The event was attended by students and teachers from over 10 educational institutions in the county interested in training in the maritime field, celebrating the World Maritime Day. Among them, there were also participants from technological and VET schools, who learned about the employment opportunities that the maritime career offers according to their skills.

Participants were given materials promoting the results of the project, such as the online training course and the career map. Partners from Romania – TEAM4Excellence, Spain – Sea Teach and Turkey – Osmaniye İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü developed within the project an online training course which is available on our platform in all languages (English, Romanian, Spanish and Turkish) and contains valuable information about the sectors of the Blue Economy. The Career Map centralizes 100 job cards in the Blue Economy and it was very useful for young participants who learned about new careers.

Professionals in the field mentored them and were on hand to answer questions, and the participants were delighted with the experience, which broadened their horizons towards choosing a possible future profession in the field according to their inclinations. Afterwards, participants learned about the technologies used in the maritime field while visiting the university’s navigation simulators.
